According to COVID school guidelines, students and staff will only be excluded from school and work if the student or staff member is COVID positive (test or physician-diagnosed).
If a student or staff member is positive or has symptoms the individual will need to stay home from school for 5 days after the onset of symptoms or the date of diagnosis/test. Individuals are recommended, but not required, to wear a mask on days 6-10 upon their return. Any individual who is sick is encouraged to stay home. Individuals need to be fever-free without the aid of fever-reducing medication for 24 hours to remain or return to school.
Keeping students and staff safe is a primary focus of USD 257-Iola. We have provided flyers from CDC with information on the COVID-19. We encourage anyone who has more questions to contact the county health department or to obtain information from your personal healthcare provider.
